This diskette contains data on global porphyry and related deposits
as implemented in Microsoft Access 7.0 under Windows 95.  The
data are contained in an Access database file under the name 
OF3792a.mdb. The documentation is contained in the Microsoft Word for 
Windows Version 6 file OF3792a.doc.  These two files have been placed
in the self-extracting PKZIP file, OF3792.exe. 

The contents of this zip file, once extracted are:

Every possible effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the data 
provided; however, the Geological Survey of Canada does not assume

database are as approximate as the data sources from which they are 
derived. A few deposits located on or near national boundaries may be 
recorded in the database as occurring in one country, but may plot slightly 
on the wrong side of the border.  This may be due to inaccuracies in the 
base map, diagram, or publication from which their locations were taken, 
and/or uncertainties in the positioning of the border in the base map we are 
using to superimpose the data, as well as possible transcription errors.

Resource data provided with this database is for ad hoc geological reporting 
purposes only, and does not in any way reflect resource estimations or 
evaluations performed at the GSC. Users may wish to verify 
critical information.
